Course Description
The Anthropology of law is an inherently comparative area of study.
Anthropology of law is a social science study that law and culture,
human relations with legal institutions, legal awareness and
reasoning in human development and culture. Between culture and
law becomes an inseparable unity. Culture affects people's behavior
in law, on the other hand, law also affects people's behavior.
Anthropology of law tries to explain the functioning of the legal
system and human development in the social system
Students can understand the
operations of the inter-relation of
humans and law in society.

Law is not only interpreted as written

by official institutions, but the law is
also closely related to legal awareness,
legal culture, legal reasoning, and the

Antropologi hukum sejajar dengan ilmu-ilmu lain yang dalam
studinya lebih memfokuskan diri terhadap kajian tentang
manusia dalam kaitannya dengan kaidah-kaidah sosial yang
bersifat hukum bukanlah fokus kajian dalam penelitian
Antropologi Hukum.
Ihromi
Cabang dari antropologi budaya dan dalam ilmu itu hendak dipahami
bagaimana masyarakat hendak mempertahankan nilai-nilai yang berlaku,
yang dijunjung tinggi, melalui proses pengendalian sosial dan dalam hal itu
hukum diperhatikan sebagai salah satu metode pengendalian sosial.
Disamping norma hukum, antropologi hukum mengkaji berbagai jenis
pedoman perilaku serta hubungan-hubungan diantara aneka norma itu
dengan nilai-nilai budaya yang dianut dalam suatu masyarakat
