Understanding Recycling

This document provides a lesson on recycling. It begins by having the reader identify items as biodegradable or non-biodegradable. It then defines recycling as transforming used items into new materials. Examples of internal and external recycling are given. The advantages of recycling include reducing pollution, conserving resources, and potential profit. The document outlines forms of recycling such as biodegradable materials like food waste and non-biodegradable items like paper, plastic, glass that can be recycled. Specific recycling examples are provided for paper, plastic, glass, fabric scrap, yarn waste, and tin cans.

What is recycling?
The process of transforming
items which already served its
original purpose but is still
durable into something that
can still be used for another
purpose.
“There is cash in trash”

be more imaginative , creative,
resourceful person by seeing
potential in waste materials.
Types of Recycling
Internal Recycling – Involves
the use of materials that are
waste product of a
manufacturing process.
Types of Recycling
Example of Internal Recycling
1. Grain mash
2. Waste product of distillation
3. Cattle Feeds
Types of Recycling
Internal Recycling –

recyclable resources like glass,
paper, metal , plastic, textiles
(electronics)
1. Paper
Itis a substance made from

Example :
4. Fabric Scrap
Itis any cloth or goods
produced by weaving ,
knitting , quilting and
patchwork
