Pre independence era (before 1947) :-
• During the pre-independence era, extension efforts
were primarily focused on educating farmers about
modern agricultural practices.

• Extension workers were trained to disseminate information on


improved seed varieties, crop rotation, and pest control
methods.

• These efforts were aimed at increasing agricultural


productivity and reducing dependence on imported
food.
• Grow more food campaigns were launched to increase food
production and ensure food security for the growing
population.

• These campaigns encouraged farmers to adopt modern
