PLURAL NOUN
Epoch epochs
For most nouns ending in ‘o’, we just add
‘s’ to make them plural
Ex:
Photo photos
Solo solos
Zoo zoos
Embryo embryos
Halo halos
But for special words below, we add ‘es to make
them plural.
Ex:
Potato potatoes
Tomato tomatoes
Volcano volcanoes
Hero heroes
Mosquito mosquitoes
Echo echoes
Buffalo buffaloes
If the noun ends with a consonant
plus ‘y’, make the plural by changing
‘y’ to ‘ies’
Ex:
Berry Berries
Daisy Daisies
Nouns in in ‘f or ‘fe’
For nouns that end with consonant ‘f’ or a single vowel
like ‘fe’, change the ‘f’ or ‘fe’ to ‘ves’
Ex:
Knife knives
Half halves
Nouns which end in two vowels plus -f usually form plurals
in the normal way, with just an -s
Ex:
Chief chiefs
Spoof spoofs
You will have to memorize the spelling for the irregular
plurals.
