Task 1: Line graph: The graph below shows the number of inquiries received by the Tourist
Information Office in one city over a six-month period in 2011.

• overall, the number of enquiries sent in person and by telephone increased signicantly, while the opposite was true
for the figures for questions sent by ltter or emails during the seurveyed period. another striking feature is that most
people chose to send questions by telephone over the first 2 months, but the means of delivering questions directly
became dominant in the final months.

• in January, only 400 questions was sent in person, which was the least common way, while nearly 900 questions
were recived by telephone. however, the figure for the former saw a rapid increase, taking over the quantity of
enquiries sent by ltter and by telephone respectivly to reach approximately 1900 in June. similaly, the number of
questions taken to the office by telephone climbed to 1600 in the last year despite a slight fall to 800 in Feb.

• on the other hand, in the first month, letter and email ranked the second in terms of the number of questions sent by
this method, with about 800 questions which were sent. after 4 months, this figure dropped sharply to 400 and then
stablized at this level until June, makiing it become the least favored method chosen by people.
