• In 20th century, Libraries used to deal with paper


resources. Library of present age is called
DIGITAL LIBRARY, E-LIBRARY AND VIRTUAL
LIBRARY.
• Digital library resources are a computer-readable file

that takes up less space than traditional library
resources. This time of great changes, the system of
collecting, protecting and protecting electronic
information will be the most efficient and accessible.
The Internet has changed the concept of libraries,
processing methods, storage, transmission and
distribution of information.

• Many types of technology are used to support and enhance


teaching and learning. In the classrooms different technologies
are used to deliver different kinds of contents, which serve
different purposes.
For example, word processing and e-mail promote
communication skills; database and
spreadsheet programmes promote organizational skills; modeling
software promotes understanding of science and math concepts.

retrieval and user requirement of information. It is very useful
for all academic or special libraries to do research work
effectively. Due to lack, financial aid, libraries are moving toward
digital / e-resources or are easily found to be less expensive and
more accessible for easy access. Electronic resources are the
indispensable tools of higher education. They provide unlimited
information round the clock.

1. The electronic resources are potentially in large.


2. The information is not organized and
comprehensive of everything.
3. Physical space is not required.
4. The search options are wide in range.
5. Full content searchable is feasible.

sources which usually appear in magazines and newspapers.

4. Lack of compatibility among different publisher.

5. Internet can provide outdated data, misleading easily, failure in providing context and
may draw the surfer in the flood of information, mostly of which information is useless”

6. Library users are mostly confused and may have difficulty in finding
the information they want, and they may just stick to the first results
shown up by an online search engine.
