Introduction

•In our modern world, electricity is the driving force behind our gadgets and devices, and at the heart of
it all is the intriguing concept of circuits. This Presentation breaks down the essential components and
principles of circuits in a way that is ensuring a deeper understanding of this fundamental aspect of our
technological landscape.
What is a circuit and how it works

A circuit is a closed loop, featuring a power source, switch, wires, and a device like a
bulb. The power source provides electricity through wires, and the switch controls the
flow by turning it on or off. The device, like a bulb, functions through the electricity.
Together, these components make a working circuit.

Cells and batteries

Cells and Batteries are the power sources of circuits. Cells are single units
that produce electrical current while Batteries are the combinations of
multiple cells ensuring more energy. Therefore, batteries are used when
more energy is required and cells are used in gadgets that require less
energy.
Switches, bulbs and other component

Switches control the flow of current within a circuit, either allowing or

interrupting the passage of electricity. Switches turn the circuit on and off.
Bulbs, on the other hand, use the electrical energy and convert it into light.
There are also other components that each have their unique tasks.
Voltage and current

Voltage, also known as electrical potential, represents the electrical force that
makes the electricity move. Electrical Current is the flow of electrical
charge. The proper flow of Voltage and electrical current are fundamental to
make the circuit to function properly.
Different types of circuits

Circuits are not just made in a single type. Circuits come in various
configurations, each serving specific purposes. Two primary types are series
and parallel circuits. Their main difference is series circuits have only one
path for electricity to flow. On the contrary, parallel circuits have multiple
paths for electricity to flow.
Series Circuits

In a series circuit, components are connected in one single series of components.

There is only one path for electric current to flow. So, if one component breaks, the
path will be disrupted or stops working, the whole circuit will stop working.

Parallel circuits

On the other hand, we have parallel circuits. In a parallel circuit, all electronic
components are on a different branch of the circuit. Each component gets its own
special path for the electricity to travel through. So, if one component breaks or stops
working, the others will continue to work

Overall circuit

 Circuits are closed pathways for electric current, powering electronic devices.
 Components like switches control current flow.
 Components like bulbs and motors use the current flow.
 Flow of Voltage, and Current are fundamental requirements for circuits.
 Cells and batteries are the main energy sources.
 Series circuits follow a single, specific path, while parallel circuits consist of
multiple pathways.
