INPUT DEVICE

An input device is any hardware device that sends data to


a computer, allowing you to interact with and control it.
KEYBOARD

 Keyboard is a common input device used today. It is


provided along with the computer and is easy to use.
 It is used for entering the text data.
 For inputting the data, the user types the data using
the keyboard.
 When the data is being typed, the display monitor
displays the typed data.
MOUSE

 It is the most common pointing input device. The data is entered


by pointing the mouse to a location on the computer screen. The
mouse may also be used to position the cursor on screen, move an
object by dragging or select an object by clicking . The key benefit
of using a mouse is that the cursor moves with the mouse. So, the
cursor can be positioned at any location on the screen by simply
moving the mouse.
joystick
A joystick is an input device that controls the movement of a digital object on a
computer screen or gaming console.
 It's a hand-held device that consists of a handle or lever that can be tilted or
pushed in different directions.
 Joysticks are mostly used for gaming applications and sometimes in graphics
applications.
 They can also be used to control machines such as cranes, trucks, wheelchairs,
surveillance cameras
Light pen

 A light pen is a computer input device in the form of a light-sensitive wand used in
conjunction with a computer's cathode-ray tube (CRT) display. It is used for making
drawing, graphics and for menu selection. Figures and drawing can be made by showing
the pen on computer screen.
Touch pad

 Touchpad had been started to be used in laptops in 1990. touchpad is a controlling input
positioning device of the computer . Touchpad is also known as glide pad and glide point.
It is the best alternative option to computer mouse. Mostly, computer touchpad device is
attached on the laptop, but sometime it found on keyboard well. Computer touchpad is
totally controlled by user’s finger, when they slide his finger o n the surface area of
touchpad.
