THE EFFECTS OF FARE HIKE TO THE GRADE 12 HUMSS

STUDENTS OF CANTILAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOOL FOR
SCHOOL YEAR 2022-2023
Introduction:

One of a student’s initial options for getting to school is

finding a ride, particularly for those who don’t have a car and for
those who live far from campus. Therefore, when the full face-to-
face classes began, the fare price in Cantilan Surigao Del Sur
also increased, which is also affected the Grade 12 HUMSS
students of Cantilan Natonal High School SY. 2022-2023.
According to the report by Raymond Carl De la Cruz
(2022), the fare increase comes after the continuing rise in oil
prices in the country and petitions by public transport groups. The
decision was arrived at following consultations with the National
Economic and development Authority (NEDA), Department of
Energy, and other stakeholders.

As a result of oil price spike, the drivers, particularly the

tricycle drivers of Cantilan were compelled to rise their fare
because they would be unable to make money if they continued
with the previous pricing. And all of the profits will go towards
accelerating the price of oil. A fare hike is an increase in the price
that passengers must pay to ride public transportation.
Currently, the majority of students commute the public transit.
Public transportation is a kind of group travel that is open to the
general public, often operated on stablished routes, managed
according to a timetable, and charged a displayed cost for each
journey.

The purpose of this study is to find out how the students

finances are affected in their studies, due to the transformation rise
and how they cope with these consequences.

Research methodology

This chapter deals with the essential elements of the

research process. These topics discussed are the following:
research design used in the study, research instrument, data
gathering procedures, and statistical treatment of the data
gathered.
Results/Findings

This chapter presents the results, the analysis, and

interpretation of data gathered from the observation and
assesment of the researchers using a checklist that contains
