2. Experiential Learning
- Experiential learning is considered
to be a progressive method of
instruction that affords students an
opportunity to generate a deeper
understanding of lecture topics by
working on course-related issues that,
when resolved, benefit their local
communities (Williams, 2016, p. 64).
3. Cooperative Learning- is a great strategy
to use in every classroom. It doesn’t matter
the age or ability of the students, cooperative
learning can be used. It gives students a way
to learn and use communication skills. It
allows more students to talk and engage in
the subject at once, rather than the traditional
one student answers the teacher’s question.
4. Class discussions as a primary
teaching method allows you to
stimulate critical thinking. As you
establish a rapport with your students,
you can demonstrate that you
appreciate their contributions at the
same time that you challenge them to
think more deeply and to articulate
their ideas more clearly.
5. Inquiry-based instruction is a
student-centered approach where the
instructor guides the students through
questions posed, methods designed,
and data interpreted by the students.
Through inquiry, students actively
discover information to support their
investigations.
6. A graphic organizer is a teaching and
learning tool that is used to organize
information and ideas in a way that is
easy to comprehend and internalize.
By integrating text and visuals, graphic
organizers show relationships and
connections between concepts, terms, and
facts.
7. Student-led learning is an education style
that emphasizes self-directed education,
creativity, and discovery, rather than rote
memorization or traditional lecture-style
education. Students are encouraged to
incorporate their own interests into projects,
within a set of broad guidelines.
8. Lesson Objective Transparency
Clearly state your lesson goals or
objectives. You could announce it in
class or write it on the board. Just make
it simple and clear for all of your
students to understand. Then, they know
what they're working towards and what
they should know by the end of the class
Why is making mistakes a part of
the process of learning?
In fact, learning from failure is often
the key to success. By getting things
wrong, you'll improve your skills
and grow in various ways. If you're
learning, you won't go wrong. It's
important to be willing to make
mistakes.
10.Utilize visual aids
Visual aids such as smartboards and projectors, box
can ramp up your lesson in class. Some children can
absorb information and have a deep understanding
of it from hearing a lecture alone. Others are visual
learners and need a little something more.
Since you need to appeal to those learners as well, a
visual guide will be your best friend. Try displaying
informative graphics that relate to your lesson on
the board or projector. Reference these illustrations
as you speak to allow everyone in your class to get
what they need out of the lesson.
The Art of Teaching for Kindergarten Kids
1. CONFERENCE LEARNING
CONFERENCE LEARNING IS A BASIC TEACHING METHOD THAT
GIVES A TEACHER ONE-ON-ONE TIME WITH EACH STUDENT.
THIS METHOD PROVIDES A TEACHER WITH A BETTER
UNDERSTANDING OF A STUDENT’S STRENGTHS AND
INTERESTS.
2. COOPERATIVE LEARNING
COOPERATIVE LEARNING IS A TEACHING METHOD THAT
GROUPS STUDENTS INTO PAIRS OR SMALL GROUPS WHERE
THEY ARE CHALLENGED TO COMPLETE A TASK. THIS TEACHING
METHOD PROMOTES PEER-TO-PEER RESPECT AND DEVELOPS AN
UNDERSTANDING OF EACH OTHERS INTERESTS, SKILLS AND
NEEDS.
3. HANDS-ON APPROACH
THE HANDS-ON APPROACH IS A METHOD THAT ENCOURAGES
STUDENTS TO LEARN BY EXAMPLE AND DOING IT. USING PROPS
HELP STUDENTS TO LEARN ABOUT ABSTRACT CONCEPTS, DEVELOP
CRITICAL THINKING AND SOLVE PROBLEMS.
