Statement of the Problem
This study seeks to investigate the suitability of Coconut Coir and Banana Pseudo-stem as
viable raw materials for producing binderless fiberboard and assess whether these materials
can be an alternative to traditional fiberboards. This study aimed to address the following
questions:

1.Can Coconut Coir and Banana Pseudo-stem be effective alternatives to traditional

materials in the production of fiberboards?

2. Is there a significant difference between the properties of coconut coir and banana
pseudostem-based fiberboards and traditional wood-based fiberboard in terms of endurance
limit?
Conceptual Framework
Hypothesis
Based on their assumptions about the research problem’s scope, the
researchers anticipate specific outcomes:

Ho: There is no significant difference between the properties of coconut coir

and banana pseudostem-based fiberboard and traditional wood-based
fiberboard in terms of endurance limit.
Significance of the Study
The significance of this research lies in its investigation of Banana Pseudostem and
Coconut Coir as potential sustainable alternative raw materials in comparison to
commercially available fiberboard. By examining the characteristics, production
techniques, and environmental effects of Binderless Fiberboard in contrast to conventional
fiberboard, this study aims to offer valuable insights to both industries and consumers.
Moreover, it addresses a gap in the current literature by specifically focusing on binderless
fiberboard, thereby contributing to the expansion of knowledge regarding alternative raw
materials. Ultimately, the results of this research could potentially pave the way for the
development of advanced methodologies and technologies that improve the quality of
fiberboard while mitigating its environmental footprint.
Methodology
PARTS CONTENT
• The study uses a controlled experimental design,
utilizing a true experimental research approach
with a post-test only design.
• It involves comparing an experimental group
receiving an intervention to a control group that
RESEARCH DESIGN does not receive the intervention.
• The experimental design is considered the most
accurate form of research, capable of establishing
a cause-effect relationship within a group
Methodology
PARTS CONTENT

• Observation and testing will be the primary

methods for data collection in the study.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
Methodology
PARTS CONTENT

• Observation and testing methods were used to

gather data, including constant thermometer
monitoring in the cooking pot to ensure
temperature uniformity and stability.
DATA GATHERING PROCEDURES • Cooking time, temperature, bubbling, and
fiberboard expansion were observed
• Endurance limit and density tests assessed
fiberboard strength and durability

Executive Summary
Recommendations
1. The researchers suggest conducting thorough experiments with different types of binders to assess their
impact on the strength and durability of fiberboard. By comparing binderless fiberboard to fiberboard
treated with binders, they aim to identify techniques that can significantly enhance the strength and
durability of the final product.

2. Conduct additional research to explore the potential of other agricultural waste materials as alternative
raw materials for binderless fiberboard production. Investigate the properties and feasibility of utilizing
materials such as rice husk,

3. Increasing the quantity of experiments can enhance the precision of data, as well as the credibility and
validity of the findings. By conducting more trials and acquiring a more comprehensive sample of the data,
it is feasible to reduce the impact of random fluctuations or anomalies. This expanded sample size
contributes to more dependable and statistically meaningful outcomes, thereby enhancing the validity and
reliability of the results
