WHAT IS DEMOLITION WORKS

► Demolition is bringing down the building


and other structure safely

► A process of dismantling, destroying or


removed any building or any part of the
building by pre-planned and controlled
methods.

► Methods of demolition depends upon


the type of structure, height and
surrounding structures.

Basically, the measurement for demolition


works as stated in SMM2 must include three
parts that to be inserted in the Bill of
Quantities, namely:

C.1 INFORMATION

 General description of the work in this section shall


be given.
 Scope of work
 Progression from location to location

Example : The work in this section comprises the demolition,


alteration and new work to the Club House to provide extension to
existing building as indicated on drawing IP/JKR/DW/1-2 and
pneumatic drill are not to be used.

 Work required to be carried out by specific methods


shall be described stating any limitations.
