Factors Affecting Problem Solving Ability of the Students

 Student Factor
 Concentration- Th e ability of the student to keep on focus.
 Self-Efficacy- The belief student that he can do it and his/her confidence
 Attitude Towards Mathematics- Student behavior and interest has a really
big role for the student to learn mathematics
 Achievement Motive- What does the reason why the student listen to
teachers discussion and solve mathematical problems, it use to learn or
just to avoid failing grades.

 Other Factors
 Present Educational Level- The grade level play as a factor in
mathematical problem solving ability of the student for in every grade
level students acquire specific knowledge.
 Social Economic Status- Mathematical problem base in real life situation
tends to be more relatable if the student had experienced it or on the state
of the problem
 School, context and Facility- Environmental Factors

 Inside the Curriculum Factor
 Curriculum- Curriculum and curriculum planning will determine on how
and what topics and lesson.
 Instructional Strategies- Having inappropriate teacher strategies would
bring great impact on how the student learn.
 Methods – Solving mathematical problems require the most efficient
method where the student can understand the concept more clearly.
 Teacher competency- The teacher is the one pouring in knowledge to the
student, if the teacher is not competent enough to discuss or deliver the
topic would make a great impact to the student learnings.
 Teacher behavior- A lot of student says that they hate math because their
teacher is terror, other student say they have hard time doing mathematics
but there teacher are nice that’s why they are able to love math. Teachers
behavior both have direct and indirect impact to the student problem
solving ability.
