CHEMICAL PROCESSING

•Is the process of making the latent image

visible and permanent, and renders it
insensitive to light.

Positive
•The photographic
negative is directly
converted to positive by
bleaching rather than
fixing it.

2.STOP-BATH
•It halts the developer action in
appropriate moment. It also prevents the
contamination of the developer and fixer
from each composed
•Normally other. of water with little
amount of dilute acetic acid that serves
as means to prevent contamination
between the developer and the acid
fixer.

3.FIXATION

•It makes the developed image permanent when it

is followed by a thorough washing. In this
processing stage, the unexposed and
underdeveloped silver halide crystals are dissolved
and removed from the emulsion of the
photographic material.

4.WASHING
•In photography, washing is an important
part of all film processing and printmaking
processes. After materials have been fixed,
washing removes unwanted and exhausted
processing chemicals which, if left in situ,
may cause deterioration and destruction of
the image.

5• DRYING
-Once washed, the film or paper is dried using air
or specialized drying equipment.
Each step requires precise timing and
temperature control to achieve the desired
results. Different types of film and paper may
require variations in the chemical formulas and
processing techniques.

•It can be carried out in trays, tanks, or
mechanized equipment. Panchromatic
materials must be handled in total darkness.
Other materials like blue films and panchromatic
printing papers are handled under a safe light.
