activity

Team Building Activities
My Birkman
Learning Experience: Activity 1
This was a warmup activity, in
which everyone was given 4 cards
having different images on them.
Everyone must flip their cards with
other class fellow and whoever
identified the match item on both cards,
win the card from other fellow member.
Initially, I was little reluctant as
according to my Birkman usual
behavior I am selectively sociable
(Birkman, 2024). But after some time, I
started enjoying this activity and
interaction with different class fellows.
I interacted with many class fellows and
really enjoyed this activity.
Learning Experience: Activity 2
Our second activity was to identify
the card image by the clues given by other
class fellows. This activity was quite
fascinating to me. According to my
Birkman report, I am selectively sociable
in my usual behavior (Birkman, 2024).
This whole activity was a new experience
to me to interact with my class fellows in a
very energetic way to identify the card
image by following their clues. Moreover,
when in need I am very comfortable with
people who are openly enthusiastic
(Birkman, 2024), and the same I
experienced in this activity. And finally, I
identified my card successfully.
Learning Experience: Activity 3
In this activity, I must select one
class fellow who I don’t know and introduce
myself to him/her and after that we both
have to choose another group of two class
fellows and then introduce my partner to the
new group members. In this activity, I
remain unsuccessful as I am less sociable
according to Birkman report (Birkman,
2024). And ended up in chatting with my old
group member who is already known to me.
Then we both choose another group who is
already known to us. So, in this activity my
usual behavior characteristics overcome my
task. Therefore, I failed in achieving the
essence of this task.
Learning Experience: Group Activity 1

In this activity, each group comprises


of 8 fellow members. And each group has to
guess the item by following the body
language/ signs of their team member without
speaking anything. In this task my item was
“Pinecone”. And in this activity, I was also
unable to explain the items to my team. As
my birkman diamond falls in Blue quadrant
(Birkman, 2024) . So, I mostly indulge in
thinking and was unable to express properly.
Though the item assigned to me was quite
difficult as well. Now consecutively failing in
two activities I find myself in stress and now
my behaviour become more people oriented
and dominating (Birkman, 2024).
Learning Experience: Group Activity
2
The plot behind this activity was a destroyed
space station. So, we the astronauts must relocate
ourselves to a safer place i.e (1 st destination a
meteoroid and then to another space station). This
was an overall group activity in which we must use
our space pods to relocate ourselves in such a way
that our body remain intact with these pods otherwise
these pods will fly away in space. I understood the
activity and got the solution but no one in the class
was listening to anybody and all were hyperactive at
that time to relocate themselves or their known class
fellows to the safer zone despite doing this activity in
a whole team. So, my stress level further increased as
I know the solution, but no one was listening. So
overall the whole class was unable to accomplish this
task. Therefore, this activity was paused by the
mentor to resume this after another activity to
understand the essence of this activity.
Learning Experience: Group Activity 3

In the final activity we were divided into 3


groups 6 members each and given a task to balance the
triangle frame considering it as a horse and one member
stands on the wooden frame and all other team members
will balance him with the help of ropes attached to the
frame. Besides, balancing the fame the team must move it
forward as well. This activity was known to me, and I have
the solution for this as well. Therefore, I promptly shared
the strategy to balance and move forward. And we
successfully ended up in this task. Moreover, other two
teams also learned from us and started following us.
Frustrated by my failure in previous two activities I become
more dominating and tend towards people. Therefore, I was
able to explain myself better to my team resulting in
successfully accomplishing the activity. But, at the end my
achievement remained unrecognized as after completion of
this task I reverted to my usual behavior quadrant i.e less
social (Birkman, 2024) and the other team member having
yellow Birkman diamond took the crown of success.
Overall Learning Experience
I overall enjoyed this activity and come to know about some wonderful class
fellows who were fantastic team members. Moreover, I observed one of the most
hyperactive group of our class. I got to know how to handle different situation with
different team members. I come to know that whatever the situation you got and
whoever your team is, you must focus on the target and share your knowledge to
achieve your goal regardless of the deficiencies you or your team have. But you must
learn from your past experiences and mold yourself promptly according to the demand
of the situation, if you want to be successful in your life.
