GOOD AFTERNOON!

WHAT IS ORTHOGRAPHIC
PROJECTION?
 Is a 2-dimensional representation of a
3-dimensional object.
 It is also known as “Multi-views”.
6 principal views used to represent an object or a scene
from different perspectives.

1.Front View:
 This view shows the object as it would appear if
viewed from the front. It represents the height and
width of the object.
2. Top View:
 The top view represents the object as seen from
directly above. It shows the length and width of the
object

3. Right Side View:


 This view displays the object as seen from the right
side. It shows the height and depth of the object.
4. Left Side View:
 The left side view is the opposite of the right-side
view and shows the object as seen from the left side

5. Bottom View:
 The bottom view represents the object as seen from
below. It complements the top view by showing the
underside of the object.
6. Rear View:
 The rear view shows the object as it would appear
from behind. It provides information about the
depth and width of the object.

*The most commonly used views are top, front,


and right side.
THE GLASS BOX

 One way to understand arrangement of view on a sheet of


paper is to envision the object in a glass block.

 The outside observer would see six standard view of an object


through the sides of the imaginary glass box.

ACTIVITY:
1. Make a plate no. 3
2. Divide the drawing paper into 4 parts.
3. Draw the orthographic projection of the
following object.
4. TITLE: “Orthographic Projection”
