What is Cloud Operating System?
 Also known as a ‘Virtual Operating System’.

Browser based operating system.


Specifically designed to function within a cloud computing and virtualization
environment.
Manages the operation, execution and processes of virtual machines, virtual
servers and virtual infrastructure.
Also manages the back-end hardware and software resources in some
cases/scenarios.
Includes Google Chrome operating system and Microsoft Windows Azure.
Features of Cloud Operating System :
Cloud operating systems allow applications to run web-based applications, access a user's desktop, and
perform simple tasks from anywhere. They are designed for desktop computers, mobile internet
devices, and laptops with internet access. Some features of cloud operating systems include:
1) Distributed OS
Manages a network of interconnected computers, distributing the workload among them
2) File management
Stores, organizes, and manages access to information
3) Memory management
Enables efficient and flexible use of resources, improves application performance, and simplifies
management and maintenance of cloud infrastructure
4) Security
Data is stored on servers that are located in a secure facility, ensuring that information is safe from
unauthorized access and theft

4) High Speed
Disadvantages :
1) It provides limited features.
2)Cloud operating system hardware failure may cause a loss
in data.
3)It needs an internet connection continuously.
4)It doesn't perform on a low-speed connection.
