I think that I shall never see
17 A poem lovely as a tree.
24
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
30
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast.
38
45 A tree that looks at God all day,
52 And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

59 A tree that may in summer wear

65 A nest of robins in her hair;
70
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
77
Who intimately lives with rain.

Kinds of Objects
11 Light comes from a variety of sources,
20 but all sources can be traced to the sun’s
27 energy. Objects can be classified into three
34 categories. A transparent object allows light
41 to pass through easily. A translucent object
49 lets some light pass through and will cast a
56 light shadow. Opaque objects block all light
64 and cast a dark shadow. Some objects with
a surface do not allow light to pass through
73
but reflect most of it.

DOOR General Instructions:
• It is important to establish a playful and
relaxed rapport with the children to be
assessed, via some simple initial
conversation among topics of interest to the
child (short motivation).
• The child/learner should perceive the
incoming assessment almost as a game to be
enjoyed rather than an exam.
VERBAL CONSENT/SPIEL
(2 minutes)

Read the text in the box clearly to the child:

My name is ____________. I work in DepEd
and a (position) in (station).

○ We are trying to understand how children

learn to read. You were picked by chance
through your list of names in this section.

○ We would like your help in this .

○ We are going to play a reading game. I am

going to ask you to read letters, words, phrases,
sentences or story out loud in ENGLISH.
○ We are also going to read words in Filipino
and Visayan (Binisaya).

○ This is not a test and this will not affect your

grades.

○ Can we get started? (or can we begin? Or

Can we start?)

GOOD LUCK! and HAPPY READING!
