The Future Continuous Tense
Structures Positive Str: subject + will be + verb-ing + ROTS. I will be waiting for you at 8:00 tomorrow. He will be teaching in the class at 9:30. Negative Str: subject + will not be + verb-ing + ROTS. I will not be waiting for you at 8:00 tomorrow. He will not be teaching in the class at 9:00. Inter… Str: Will + subject + be + verb-ing + ROTS? Will I be waiting for you at 8:00 tomorrow? Will he be teaching in the class at 9:00? Future continuous tense has two different forms in English: “will” and “be going to” Examples We will be studying at this time on Monday. OR We are going to be studying at this time on Monday.
She will be working in the office at 11:00 a.m.
She is going to be working in the office at 11:00 a.m. Usages I will be working in the office at 10:00 a.m. Use 1: He will be studying his lessons at 9 p.m. Now I will be sleeping at 12:00 tonight. You will be sitting in the class at this time tomorrow. Past Future 8 p.m. 9 p.m.
The Future Continuous Tense expresses an activity
that will be in progress at some time in the future. Use 2: Future continuous tense is also used to say what is probably the case at present.
Examples:
Do call your father. He will be worrying about you.
He will get married. They’ll be doing the arrangements.
I told him that I will be there at 6:00. He’ll be waiting for me.
