You will learn about the objectives of the project and learning competencies about the essential function of the respiratory
system, using a lung model.

LUNG MODEL
Objectives:
The brief objective of our lung model in our classroom
setting is to serve as an educational tool to help students
understand the structure and function of the lungs, facilitating
the learning of respiratory biology and physiology.
Biology
Materials Used: LUNG MODEL
• 3 pieces of balloon
• Scissors
• Cutter
• Plastic Bottle
• Tape
• Bottle cap
Biology
LUNG MODEL
The Process
Construct the trachea using tape and straws with
Step 1 - different diameters.
Step 3 - To make the ribcage, take a plastic bottle then cut off the bottom
Step 4 - Pass the trachea through the hole in the lid, place the lungs in the
chest and attach it
Step 5 - Take another balloon and make the diaphragm; then insert it to the
bottom of the bottle.

Guide Questions
Learn About our Model!
A. What does each part of the lung model represent?
A lung model typically represents the structure and funcion of the lungs. Each part of the model corresponds to specific
anatomical features and functions of the lungs.
D. How does the movement of the diaphragm cause the air to go in and out to the
lungs?
When you take a breath in, the diaphragm contracts. This means it moves downward toward the abdominal cavity. During
exhalation, the diaphragm relaxes, moving back up towards the chest cavity.
LUNG MODEL
Conclusion
Creating a lung model is an educational and visually
informative project that can help individuals better
understand the anatomy and function of the
respiratory system. With this in mind, we now
realized how significant the respiratory system and
how the mechanisms of breathing vital to day-to-day
life process.
