MATERIAL : SS 304
TYPE OF DOOR : Wooden & metal
APPLICATION : Standard, fire & smoke doors
MAX WEIGHT : 120 Kg (3 hinges)
KNUCKLE : 14mm diameter
HINGE POSITION RECOMMENDATION

Figure 1 – Use for medium weight doors. Figure 3 – Use for door height over 2,100 mm.
The benefit of this solution is that door This solution is for constructions with a
will be held straight and wont warp. high risk of door warping.
Figure 2 – Use for higher weight doors. Figure 4 – Use for door height over 2,100 mm.
This alternative is recommended This version is especially recommended
when door closing device is fixed on the door. when door closers are fitted on the door.
FLUSH HINGE
USE OF FLUSH HINGE:
It is considered as the most versatile hinge because
they can be used for almost any furniture or
cabinet hardware project.

ADVANTAGES:
It is for lightweight applications such as
cupboards. Has the advantage over a butt hinge as
it fixes directly onto the surface without the need
to cut a recess. Also the design allows one leaf to
fit inside the other thus taking up less space.

DISADVANTAGES:
It tend to be less durable than standard hinges, and
cannot be used on very heavy doors.
LIFT OFF HINGE

It is made up of two parts which allow door

removal without the need to open the door.

BENEFITS:

Useful in areas where quick access is required.

For e.g. Bathroom doors where there is a risk of
slipping and falling and causing injury.
SPRING HINGE
Type of hinge : Single action spring & Double
action spring

BENEFITS:
It is Self closing.
As the door open & the enclosed spring will
create tension that pull it back.

TYPES OF DOOR CLOSER

CAM

CAM ACTION RACK & PINION ELECTROMAGNETIC

CAM ACTION DOOR CLOSER
 Cam action door closers use a ‘cam and follower’ mechanism to reduce the resistance when opening a
door. The cam mechanism enables a door to be opened using a low amount of force.

 They have a much slimmer, sleeker profile than rack and pinion closers and are considered to be more
aesthetically pleasing and architectural.

 Cam action door closers have an opening angle of 110-120 degrees.

RACK & PINION DOOR CLOSER

 As the door is opened, the pinion rotates, forcing the rack to move and compress the spring(s), storing
energy to close the door. This guarantees exceptional ease of use by reducing the resistance encountered
when opening the door. It is a great choice for public, residential and commercial applications.

 rack and pinion closers might be the preferred option is where an opening angle of 180 degrees must be
achieved. For example, in hospital corridors where it is vital to ensure there are no obstructions, a door is
required to open and sit flat against the wall.
MECHANISM OF DOOR CLOSER
BACKCHECK, LATCHING SPEED & CLOSING DELAY
BACKCHECK :A closer with backcheck
ensures the opening motion of a door
is hydraulically dampened from an opening
angle of approximately 75o.
backcheck prevents a door like this from
being thrown open, stopping any damage
that might occur to the door or the wall.

LATCHING SPEED : Speed of the door leaf in the

Final 0o to 15o of closing, until it reaches its fully closed position.
This ensuring the complete closure of the door vs slamming, or trapped
fingers.

CLOSING DELAY: This refers to a delay in the system’s closing speed

between its maximum achievable opening angle (max 130 degrees) to
around 70o.
Because the speed of the closing motion is slowed down, it provides
users with additional time to pass through the door. for example,
wheelchair users, people carrying a box, or pushing a trolley etc
This type of feature can be very useful in areas such as operating
theatres, care home communal room doors, and store/gym equipment
rooms
ELECTROMAGNETIC DOOR CLOSER

 Electromagnetic door holders will allow a fire door to be held open electro-magnetically allowing a free
flow of traffic. Electromagnetic door closers are linked with a building fire alarm system so that when the
fire alarm is activated the power to the closers is cut and doors shut.
