There are two different firewall versions that have been used for
the different hardware versions:
For DriveMonitorTM Embedded PC: Sonicwall TZ180.
For DriveMonitorTM Box: Sonicwall TZ170
Firewall TZ170 Commissioning
The firewall is prepared do be connected to an Internet
connection via a modem in Bridge mode. Other solutions
like fixed IP or DHCP are also supported.
How to Connect to the Firewall
There are two possibilities to access the firewall:
via the DriveMonitor™ PC
via an external PC with the Ethernet adapter properly configured
and connected to the firewall of the LAN port.

An individual IP address and a password are assigned to each

customer.
A test report containing all passwords, license numbers, IP
addresses and tests done on the DriveMonitor™ PC is

delivered to each customer (the file is on drive monitor

PC under the directory C settings). In case the file is not
there the customer should ask for it from ABB Switzerland

Direct Internet Connection
If the customer has a direct internet connection then
the firewall settings must be as follows:
The customer modem must be in Bridge mode. If it
is not in bridge mode it must be configured. For Zixel
modems and most of the common ones it is enough
to select “Bridge Mode”. For other modems the
selection can be “Transparent Mode”. The function
is, however, the same.

1 Select the folder “Network” and then “Settings”

2 Select “NAT with PPPoE Client” from the “Mode”
