Map Labelling Questions

Tips and Strategies
• Understand the plan and its features before the audio starts. Follow compass directions,
if mentioned. In this case it is expected to hear directions in the form of compass points:
• a little to the north
• In the south west corner
• Some maps will have a starting point. So, think about where the person might begin
their talk from. Identify it so that navigation through the map will be easy while listening
to the audio.
• Look for clues that may be given in the map. Clues such as trees, river, roads etc. It is
very easy to locate these in the map. These become pointers to be identified in the
audio.

Map Labelling Questions

Tips and Strategies

• Move your finger on the map or use a pencil to point the place being talked about. This
works best when the listening is a tour and there is a specific route to be followed.

• Once you get the answer in the map, mark it in the map itself and not in front of the
question number.

• The questions USUALLY follow the same order as the information in the audio.
