Power
• is the ability to influence the behavior of others to achieve specific objectives
within an organization.

Types of Power:
1. Legitimate Power
2. Reward Power
3. Coercive Power
4. Expert Power
5. Referent Power
6. Informational Power
LEGITIMATE POWER
• is the power derived from a
formal position or role within an
organization.
EXPERT POWER
• is the power derived from
possessing specialized
knowledge or skills.
REFERENT POWER
• is the power that stems from
personal traits and the ability to
attract others.
REWARD POWER
• is the power based on the ability to
distribute rewards.
COERSIVE POWER
• is the power that comes from
the ability to impose sanctions
or punishments.
INFORMATIONAL POWER
• is the power based on access to
valuable information.
