Install SAP Cloud Connector (SCC)

SCC is required to secure connectivity from BTP to SAP Solution


Manager to be located close to SAP Solution Manager in your
data center
 Create virtual machine based on sizing guidelines – click here.
Recommend to use a medium size
 Install SCC using the download from here and install instructions for
your chosen OS (Windows, Linux or Mac)

When installed review the following help files to finalise the


installation

– Recommended to use the create & import self-signed certificate for
beta testing – config will show valid system certificate
 Recommendations for secure set-up
– Not mandatory for beta but recommended for production

Connect SAP Cloud Connector (SCC) to sub-account

SCC must now be connected to your subaccount for


the beta test
 Follow steps form this guide here
– Region is eu10 (AWS Frankfurt) or us10 (AWS Virginia)
– Please provide a Location ID e.g. customer name or
abbreviation just using uppercase letters and numbers
– Your user is your email and your password is your SAP
universal ID’s password

 Once connected, verify the SCC is connected in your


account
– Logon to the subaccount overview using
– Click on “Connectivity", then "Cloud Connectors” on the
lefthand menu
– Screen should show your connector as active

Go to SAP BTP Cockpit

From SAP BTP sub-account, the users will be able to see a tile with Connector application. The user needs to navigate to ‘Service
Marketplace’ area from the main menu of SAP BTP Cockpit where they will be able to find a tile with the application name ‘Connector
SaaS App Staging.

Select ‘Integration’

Subscribe to Connector Application
To be able to subscribe to the connector application, the user will need to select Create. This step will deploy the application to the use
sub-account and the users will be able to go and login to application, after successful completion of subscription step.

Launch Connector Application

After successful subscription, please launch the connector application, using the same dropdown menu on the application tile.

Connect new systems
Go to ‘Connected systems’ where the user can connect required systems.

Select ‘Add System’ when a new SAP Solution Manager or SAP Signavio Process
Manager system needs to be connected.

Depending on which system the user needs to connect, they can choose from SAP Signavio Process Manager or SAP Solution Manager
system type in the Create System page. We will demonstrate how to connect SAP Signavio Process Manager.

Connect SAP Signavio Process Manager

System Name – Can be found from SAP Signavio Process Manager ‘Help  Workspace information’

Data Center – Please select the data center where your Signavio workspace

Workspace Tenant ID – is found in menu path Help  Workspace information (as above)

System Role – used to distinguish between Test and Productive workspaces for documentation purpose.

Description – free text, describing your selected workspace. Keep it short. It will be visible in the Connected system list to help
the user to navigate between multiple Signavio workspaces.

All required fields will need to be filled in on the system technical information section.

Display connected systems
After creating the system successfully, the user will be taken to the Connected System page where they can preview already created systems.
Below you can see that SAP Signavio Process Manager system was created successfully. Please note that the "Inactive" status refers to whether
the connection has been actively been used in a synchronisation project. At this point, the "Inactive" state is expected as the synchronisation
project has not been started yet.

Connect SAP Solution Manager
In the same Connected Systems area, it is possible to create another system. We will demonstrate how to connect SAP Solution
Manager system. Multiple SAP Solution Manager system instances could be crated if required.

Host Name & Port number – is the hostname & port you use to connect to your Solution Manager system via a browser

Service User /Password – are details of the SAP Solution Manager system Service
user. If you don’t have one, please ask your system administrator to set it up and ask
them to allocate the roles described at this link.

Certificate Type – select “Trusted” if your SolMan system has an officially signed system certificate installed. Otherwise select “Untrusted”

After successful completion of system information, a summary page will be displayed. If all details are correct, please click
on Create System. The system will be added to the ‘Connected Systems’ list.

The summary page shows the key information which is required for the final step to create a Cloud-to-OnPremise trust
relationship for this system in your SAP Cloud Connector

The screens steps shown below show how to create the trust relationship required to allow SAP Solution Manager to be
able to be accessed from your Connector on SAP Business technology platform. These steps should be done by the
person responsible for the SAP Cloud Connector administration.

Create Synchronisation Project
A Synchronisation project needs to be created for every new combination of synchronised SAP Signavio workspace and SAP
Solution Manager Solution. Please note that synchronisation of the same SAP Signavio workspace to a different SAP Solution
Manager Solution will require a new Project.

Synchronisation Project: map dictionary
Mapping of Dictionary is used to select or create a dictionary category in SAP Signavio that will be linked to SAP Solution Manager Process library and used by
the connector for synchronisation of process activities (Activity object type in SAP Signavio and Process Step <Orig.> in SAP Solution manager).

Please note, only one Dictionary category can be mapped. It is not possible to map Dictionary sub-category. All Activity object types used in synchronisation
must be stored in the mapped Dictionary Category, if synchronisation direction is SAP Signavio to SAP Solution Manager. All Process Steps from the Process
Step Library and it’s lower level folders and sub-folders will be imported into the mapped category, if synchronisation direction is SAP Solution Manager to SAP
Signavio.

Customized attributes are optional. For object types that are in scope of synchronisation (BPMN Process Models, Tasks,
Process Steps, etc.), existing standard and customer attributes from SAP Signavio and SAP Solution Manager systems
can be mapped here. Please note that data element types and length is not controlled automatically and would require the
end use to select attributes of matching data types

Activate Synchronisation Project
Activation of Synchronisation Project can be done from the following pages of Synchronisation Process menu. Activation
will take some minutes to check SAP Signavio system settings and create Dictionaries and attributes according to mapping
provided by the user in the Project. If Dictionaries and attributes were previously created, the system will reuse them and
will not duplicate the entries.

Run Synchronisation Project
Run synchronisation project function is used for transferring data between SAP Signavio and SAP Solution Manager. Upon completion of
initial synchronization from SAP Solution Manager, SAP Signavio must remain as the primary tool for changing business processes and the
following of best practices for synchronisation must be considered.

Please note, only Active Sync Projects can be used to run synchronisation.

If you synchronise SAP Signavio to SAP

specify the project and start the

Please note: initial synchronisation for


productive deployment must ensure that SAP
Solution Manager Solution is blank and
shouldn’t contain any objects in the target root
folder in the process structure and process
library.

If you are running a test synchronisation, than


the solution might have other process content
outside the top root folder and Process Step

If you synchronise SAP Solution Manager to SAP Signavio you will be offered to select a Scope from SAP Solution Manager that might be required for
synchronisation. The scope selection helps the use to:

- ensure only required content of SolMan is imported to Signavio

- break down large process structures into smaller parts to work around limitations on data load exceeding 512 MB in size of extracted data file

When synchronisation is started, you will be able to see its progress, status and monitor every phase. Process objects processed by the
connector are displayed in the synchronisation logs. In case of errors during the synchronisation, you will be able to display a detailed error
message.

Run Synchronisation: monitor synchronisation in Phase 5
Phase 5 is only used in synchronisation to SAP Signavio to show progress of imported BPMN Diagrams of SAP Solution Manger. The import covers both types of the
diagrams: Collaboration and Process Diagram.

You might be able to see some errors in processing of the Diagrams, however the whole status of synchronisation will be set to Complete. Diagram often have missing
Process Steps (e.g. it’s blank), missing XML that wasn’t generated in SAP Solution Manager when the diagram was imported/created or deleted Process Steps (e.g.
deleted from the structure, but not the diagram. Due to a low impact impact on consistency of the synchronisation, the synchronisation is considered as ‘Complete’.

Run Synchronisation: Synchronisation History
After synchronisation was performed you can check the history of execution for every Project from Synchronisation Project. You can also
display the detailed logs for synchronisation phases and steps.

Go to Synchronisation
Projects, click on the Go back to the list of

Double click on the Sync run
