 System installation – PADS 4.0
Installation Software:
Install the software on the through the Link shared in the shared folder.

Use th eset-up file as below

Setup_Piaggio_PADS_4.0_SW1.00_M41.5_C_9.2

Installation Process:

 To install PADS 4.0, follow the procedure illustrated in the following video. Note
that you must have administrator rights in order to install the software. PADS 4.0 is
compatible with Windows 10 ONLY.

 Note that the main functions of PADS 4.0 require the PC used to have a reliable
connection to the internet.

Post Installation :

Now launch the software by double clicking the PADS icon on the desktop.

The language of the operating system used is detected and the same language is set for the
PADS software.

 Installing PADS 4.0 and launching application for the first time

 To install PADS 4.0, follow the procedure illustrated in the following video. Note that you must have

 Updating Firmware

 Connect the PADS device to the PC with the USB cable.

 Launch the PADS 4.0 application and follow the procedure illustrated in this video.
 Note: This procedure dies not require the PADS device to be physically connected to the diagnostic port of
the vehicle.

 Preliminary setup: connecting to PADS device with USB cable

 Follow the procedure illustrated in the following video.

 Secondary setup: Entering Licence Key

 Please enter the serial number provided by Piaggio for activating the user license for the PADS 4.0 application.

 The currently valid SUBSCRIPTION PASSWORD (key) for 2022 may be used.

 Automatic vehicle selection with AUTOSCAN function

 The AUTOSCAN function may be used to automatically select the vehicle diagnosed.
 Note: connect the PADS device to the diagnostic port of the vehicle before pressing AUTOSCAN.

 Use the drop-down menu to select the parameters required, as shown in the following video.
 The parameters selected may also be viewed in graph form for monitoring variations in the parameters over
time.

 Vehicle diagnosis: ACTIVATION and ADJUSTMENT

 The ONLINE HELP function provides descriptions of all parameters and all the sections of the PADS 4.0 application.
 The function also includes an OPERATING RANGE section to help identify the correct operating ranges of parameters.
Parameters shown in green indicate that the respective vehicle system diagnosed is operating correctly.

Navigating through PADS FUNCTIONS

 Vehicle diagnosis: Reading and Clearing Error

 The ECU memory is scanned for errors at regular intervals during each diagnostic session.
 Note: If any errors in ACTIVE state are identified during initial launch of vehicle diagnosis, PADS 4.0
automatically displays the ERROR CODE section.

 Vehicle diagnosis: GENERATE REPORT function

 The GENERATE REPORT function may be used after each diagnostic session.
 The REPORT generated may then be used for a number of different purposes, as shown in the video.
