How do you operate the machine?

How is something operated, made or
achieved?
 It’s very important for us to learn how the things are operated
or made; ex: how to operate the computer, a washing
machine, a rice cooker, how to make a cup of tea, etc.

 To know how to operate it, how to make it and how to


achieve, we have to understand the procedures or the
instructions about them.
What is a procedure?
 A procedure is a text to describe how is something achieved
or operated or made through a sequence of actions or
steps.
 A series of a procedure or instruction can be expressed by:
1. using sequence makers or steps: first, second, next,
then, after that, finally, etc
2. using imperative sentences :
It’s like a command or a request. V1 + O !
ex: - plug in the cord!
- insert the password!
- press the power to on!, etc.
Read these words and find their meanings!
These words are commonly used for instructions.

Steps to Turn Off the Computer Correctly.
We must turn off the computer properly so that it is not easily damaged.
Here are the steps we have to do:
First, click the “START” menu in the lower left corner of the screen.
Then click “shutdown”.
Then select “OK”.
Wait until the computer turns off.
After that press the button on the monitor and turn off the stabilizer after the
computer shuts down.
Finally, unplug the cable from the power supply to cut off the current.
How to operate a telephone?
A.Press the destination phone number exactly as intended. Hold the handset
with your left hand and right hand holding the prepared stationery and
paper (paper or note block).
B. If there is a call error, for example a wrong number, immediately
apologize.
C. When the caller has connected the caller must give a greeting and identity.
D.Express the intent and purpose of calling in a clear, concise,
