WHAT IS POLITICAL PARTIES?
A political party is an organized group of people who share similar political beliefs and goals.
Parties are made up of ‘members’ from the public.
Party members work together to achieve power through an election and try to accomplish their
goals.
 Each party also selects a leader, usually through a leadership contest.
POLITICAL BELIEFS
Political beliefs are like your thoughts on how the government should operate and what it should
focus on.
 People have different views on the role and power of the government, how resources should
be shared, and what laws should be in place.
 It’s all about what you believe is the best way for a country to be governed and how decisions
should be made for the benefit of everyone.
TYPES OF POLITICAL PARTIES

They are important for elections, giving options for voters to choose from.

People can join in politics through parties, sharing their ideas.

 They make sure the democratic system stays stable by providing organized ways to engage in
politics.
