Seven - Opening Sequence
Seven - Opening Sequence
Visually, what do the opening title sequences show? How is narrative enigma shown?
The audience isnt aware of the significance of the objects in the title sequence. It becomes clear that a scrap book is being made but because it is still uncertain what is in the scrap book and who is making it, narrative enigma is held as the audience is unaware of what will happen in the plot.
Why has Kyle Cooper chosen to use CU shots which hide the identity of the villain? Where do these shots position the viewer?
The shots always position the viewer to the side or above what the villain is doing. This makes us feel like were in the room and close to the protagonist, but still a sense of detachment and unease is felt as we dont know who this person.
This all adds to the feel of it being a psychological thriller. The scribe seems unstable as there writing is so disjointed.
