Dear God, as we gather in our class today, we ask for your presence to be
with us. Grant us patience as we tackle new concepts and perseverance
when faced with challenges. Help us to support one another and work
together as a team. Bless everyone with wisdom and creativity as they
guide us on this learning journey. May our hearts be open to
understanding and our minds be sharp. In your name, we pray. Amen.

Note: There are no rules that dictate where and how you will start the selection process, as long as
you do not intentionally look for a specific number.
The teacher writes all the
name of students in a piece of
paper and puts it in a box for
the graded recitation.
Slovin’s Formula:

SAMPLING
This can be done by listing all the
elements in the population and selecting
every element in your population list.
The school office personnel
gave the researcher a list of
2000 Grade 10 students. The
researcher selected every 6th
name on the list

SAMPLING
This can be done by first dividing the elements in
the population into strata and then samples are
randomly selected from each stratum ensuring that
each selected element is proportionately
represented in the total population.
A teacher who is conducting a
research on the effects of using
mobile phones in teaching English,
she decided to divide her students into
male and female and then she selected
students from each gender group.

SAMPLING
The whole population is subdivided into
clusters, or groups, and random samples
are then collected from each group.
A researcher surveyed all
dengue patients in each of
the 10 randomly selected
hospitals in Misamis
Oriental.

Each element of the population

The teacher writes all the name of
students in a piece of paper and
puts it in a box for the graded

6
The teacher gets the class record
and call every four name in the
list.
There are 20 toddlers, 40
teenagers, 45 middle-aged, and 55
7
senior citizens in a certain area.
Samples are taken according to the
total number of people in the area.
The company has offices in 10
cities across the country. You don’t
8
have the capacity to travel to every
office to collect your data, so you
use random sampling to select 3
offices.
All the employees of the company are
listed in alphabetical order. From the first
10 numbers, you randomly select a
9
starting point number 6. from number 6
onwards, every 10 people on the list is
selected, and ended up with a sample of
100 people.
BNSHI conducted a raffle draw during
10
their foundation day. All the names of
participants who bought the tickets are
put in a raffle box.
