GEMINI AI

THE FUTURE OF ARTIFICIAL

INTELLIGENCE
What is Gemini AI ?
 Gemini is a multimodal AI model from Google.
 Gemini is also Google’s most flexible model yet.
 It is able to efficiently run on everything from data centers to
mobile devices.
 Gemini 1.0 is optimized for different sizes:
• Gemini Ultra — our largest and most capable model for highly
complex tasks.
• Gemini Pro — our best model for scaling across a wide range of
tasks.
• Gemini Nano — our most efficient model for on-device tasks.
Why is Gemini AI better?
 What distinguishes Gemini from earlier generative AI models such
as LaMDA is that it’s a “multi-modal model”.
 This means that it works directly with multiple modes of input and
output: as well as supporting text input and output.
 Can understand not only text, but video, images, and audio.
 Can understand and generate code, and generate text and
images combined.
“I’ve always believed that if we could build smarter machines, we could
harness them to benefit humanity in incredible ways.”
-SUNDAR PICHAI
Google and Alphabet CEO
“For a long time, we’ve wanted to build a new generation of AI models,
inspired by the way people understand and interact with the world. AI that
feels less like a smart piece of software and more like something useful and
intuitive — an expert helper or assistant.”
-Demis Hassabis,
CEO and Co-Founder of Google DeepMind

Technical Breakthroughs
 Multimodal capabilities
 Advanced reasoning
 Chain-of-thought (CoT) prompting approach
 Performance benchmarks
 Diverse applications
Real life examples
 Self-driving cars collect enormous amounts of data as they are
driving on our roads.
 That can support better traffic flow, or help authorities identify
suspicious or criminal behaviour.
 Smart appliances at home like motion sensors, voice assistants
and security cameras.
 Helps doctors to detect early onsets of ailments such as diabetes
or dementia, as well as to recommend and follow up on changes
in lifestyle.
The Disadvantages
 Gemini AI can be biased. This is because it is trained on a massive
dataset of text and code, which may contain biases from the real
world.
 It can be inaccurate. This is because it is still under development,
and it may not always be able to provide accurate or helpful
information
 Gemini AI can be dangerous. It can be used to generate harmful
or malicious content.
 Over-reliance on AI
 Control and Accountability
Future Implications of Google’s
Gemini
 Complex image understanding
 Multimodal reasoning
 Educational applications
 Multilingual communication
 Information summarization and extraction
Availability of Gemini AI
 The integration of Gemini Pro with Google’s chatbot Bard marks a
significant leap forward in user interaction.
 To access Gemini Pro:
 Visit Bard’s Website
 Log In with a Google Account
 Experience Enhanced Bard
 Gemini Nano will be available in Pixel 8 Pro, powering new features
like Summarize in the Recorder app and Smart Reply via Gboard,
starting with WhatsApp.
 Gemini Ultra is still under development and may be available in 2024.
