Your name and other relevant info

Sample Slides
 The following slides are samples of what your
presentation should cover.
 For example, the first few should give enough
information and background that others can
see the why, what, how, etc. that makes your
project important and how you conducted
your project, e.g. how/where you acquired
your data set, what analysis methodology you
used, etc. and then the sample slides
continue…
 Your may use these slides as templates – that is just
fill them in with your own content as appropriate
 You may build your own presentation from scratch –
just make sure that at least all this information is
covered in your presentation.
Project Overview
(The research question or problem your project addresses)

 The issue(s) or challenge(s) that

identified the research question or
problem.
 It
is a challenge to…
 We need…

 No one understands…
The Process
 What steps did you go through
 Briefly define each step
 Indicate about how much time and
effort went into each step
(estimated per your project
proposal/plan and actual)
Background
(provide information about analytics can help solve the
research question)

 If a relationship (or pattern or

whatever kind of information is
required) is found then…
 Benefits

 Advantages/disadvantages

 Etc…
Project Summary
(you may have this summary slide and a separate slide for each part later in your
presentation)

 Overall Results
 Result 1…
 Result 2…
The Data
(Remember that for analytics “data is the king” so…)

 What data is required?

 Where/how did you get it? Or where
would you look for it?
 Why is it the right data/why is this
data important?
 If it is important to your project you
might include the data’s format, e.g.
block binary, tabular…
Preliminary Analysis/Pre-Processing

 What you did -

 Result 1…
 What you did next
 Result 2…

Note that this slide and the next

may be reversed in order or
combined as appropriate!
Summary Statistics or Data Visualization
(provide any data visualization you used to make sense of your data)

 Summary (and/or Descriptive)

Statistics
 Number of records
 Number of attributes

 Key attributes and their mean, std,

as appropriate
 Histogram(s), graphs, Scatter
plots, etc.
 Models that you used glm,
loglm, …
Data Analysis
(provide any data analysis you have completed here)

 Methodology
 Conclusion(s)
 Potential errors, bias, etc.

Provide any data analysis you did or

others have done that you can use
to support your project and
conclusions!
Additional information/knowledge that could be
acquired in the future
 Future efforts
 If you were not able to complete your project,
e.g. you did not reach a conclusion, you should
discuss what needs to be done to complete the
project.
 If you completed your project but were not
able to reach about how analytics could be
used to answer the research question,
challenge or issue you were considering you
should discuss what needs to be done to reach
a conclusion.
 If there is more that should be done to
strengthen or expand the conclusion you
reached you should discuss that here.
Lessons Learned
 Discuss what you learned in doing
this project:
 Lesson 1
 Lesson 2
 Lesson 3
