Simple/continuos
I wash dishes every day.
 I go to the cinema once a week.
 She takes a shower twice a week.
 Take a shower-
 Present Continuous , now, at the moment. tonight , this
morning, this evening.
 I am going to the cinema.
 I/you/we/he…+ an/is/are/verbing
 I am buying
 Are you
 Prepare for
 What are we having for dinner tonight?
 1. We use the Present Simple to say what we usually do, or things that are normally
true.
2. We often use the Present Simple with adverbs and expressions of frequency,
e.g. always, often, once a week, etc.
3. We use the Present Continuous to say what is happening now.
4. We often use the Present Continuous with ’at the moment, today, this week’.

 What do you do? or What are you doing?


 A: What do you do? (= What’s your job?)
B: I’m a teacher.
A: What are you doing? (= now, at the moment)
B: I’m waiting for a friend.
