USES

• Hysteroscopic inspection and selective biopsy is


considered gold standard for detecting
endometrial lesions

• Ultrasound , CT & MRI to detect endometrial


thickness irregularities and pelvic tumour , it
also helps in preoperative investigations for
spread and extent of tumour

• Cystoscopy and proctoscopy are useful in


detecting bladder and rectum bleeding 5
MANAGEMENT

 Treat the cause

 If no cause is found, observe


the patient . In 80% of cases
bleeding stops after single
episode , If not laparotomy
and hysterectomy is
recommended which can
show undiagnosed small
SPECIFIC MANAGEMENT

• In cases of Endometrial hyperplasia without


atypia Mirena should be the first line of
medical treatment

• In case of Endometrial hyperplasia with


atypia due to high risk of carcinoma total
hysterectomy is done

• For senile endometritis oral oestrogen


therapy and broad spectrum antibiotics are
given 8
