PROJECT TITLE - PHARMACY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

NAME – ANILKUMAR SHRAVAN JHA

COURSE – BACHELOR OF SCIENCE - COMPUTER SCIENCE

ROLL NUMBER – 20 (TWENTY)

2

INTRODUCTION
Background :- The Pharmacy Management System is a web-based application built using PHP,
JavaScript, Bootstrap, and CSS, designed to facilitate efficient pharmacy operations. the shop owner
can manage customers, medicines, and suppliers through a dashboard. The primary goal of the
project is to streamline CRUD operations, ensuring effective business management for the pharmacy
owner.

Problem Statement :- The Pharmacy Management System addresses the challenges of inefficient
inventory management, manual record-keeping, and difficulties in tracking customer and supplier
information in pharmacies. By automating these processes, the system minimizes errors and saves
time, allowing pharmacy owners to focus on providing better customer service. Ultimately, it seeks to
improve overall operational efficiency and business management for pharmacy owners.

Significance :- The Pharmacy Management System is significant in the field of healthcare and
pharmacy management as it enhances operational efficiency and accuracy in medication distribution.
By digitizing records and streamlining processes, it supports better patient care and reduces the risk
of errors associated with manual systems. Furthermore, it empowers pharmacy owners with valuable
insights through data analytics, promoting informed decision-making and business growth.

SCOPE
Inclusions:- The Pharmacy Management System includes key aspects such as user
authentication for secure access to the admin dashboard, comprehensive management of
customers, medicines, and suppliers, and detailed tracking of sales and purchases. It also features
reporting tools for analyzing sales and inventory trends. Overall, the system covers all essential
functions needed for effective pharmacy operations.

Exclusion:- The Pharmacy Management System does not include features for online
prescription fulfillment or integration with external healthcare systems. It also lacks advanced
functionalities such as automatic drug interaction checks and patient health record management.
Additionally, the project does not support multi-store or chain pharmacy management, focusing
solely on individual pharmacy operations.

Limitation:- The Pharmacy Management System may face limitations such as scalability issues
when handling large volumes of data, particularly in high-traffic pharmacies. Integration with other
healthcare systems or external databases could be complex due to the lack of built-in support.
Additionally, ensuring data security and compliance with healthcare regulations may present
challenges, requiring extra attention to safeguard sensitive information.

METHODOLOGY
Key Processes:- The key processes in the Pharmacy Management System include user
authentication and dashboard access, where the admin manages customers, medicines,
suppliers, and sales. CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) are performed to
maintain records for inventory, transactions, and supplier data. Additionally, reporting and
analysis features allow the admin to generate sales and purchase reports for business insights.

Data Collection Methods:- data for the Pharmacy Management System is

collected through manual entry by the pharmacy admin, capturing customer, supplier, and
medication details at the point of sale or purchase. Transactional data, such as sales and
purchases, will be logged in real-time during operations. The system will automatically analyze
this data to generate inventory reports, sales trends, and supplier performance for decision-
making.
