Automated LPG Cylinder Monitoring System
Automated LPG Cylinder Monitoring System
AGENDA
Proposed Solution
The proposed system, in order to fix the problem, addresses the limitations of available solutions and emphasizes key
functionalities, which include measuring the amount of gas in the cylinder, leak detection, and indication of status to the user
regarding the cylinder.
The system is based on a sensor network interfaced with the Arduino UNO for real-time data monitoring and control.
An MQ6 gas sensor is employed for leakage detection of the gas.
A load cell mounted below the cylinder for weight measurement.
In the presence of gas leakage within a specified range of the atmosphere, an automatic cut-off of the system is achieved by
means of an NC type solenoid valve, which is controlled through a relay, and then the exhaust system with a BLDC fan is
turned on to remove the leaked gas from the atmosphere.
Weight data from the load cell are then forwarded to an HX711 amplifier, which converts the signal from analog to digital
before transmitting it across to the Arduino UNO controller.
There is also an LCD display in the system to show real-time status. The controller contains a programmed code that may
process the sensor readings and give an output of the current cylinder status, its remaining life, and a warning when the
threshold set by the user in terms of gas level drops.
Notifications alert is given user's mobile via a Global SIM Mobile module. In all, this Automated LPG Cylinder Monitoring
System acts as a watchful guardian, enhancing safety and automating cylinder management with least human intervention.
