Introduction:

This poem tells that even a simple moment has a large


significance. The poet has mentioned crow and hemlock
tree in this poem. Crow signifies his depressive and
sorrowful mood and hemlock tree is a poisonous tree.
Dust of Snow
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart


A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
Short Summary:
This poem tells that even a simple moment has a large impact and
significance. The poet has mentioned Crow and Hemlock tree in this poem.
Crow signifies his depressive and sorrowful mood and Hemlock is a
poisonous tree. Both of these signifies that the poet was not in a good mood
and he describes the dark and bitter side of the nature.
The poet was sitting under a tree, the crow was all on the same tree, it shook
the dust of snow , on the poet. This small action has changed his mood. He
realized that he had wasted a part of his day being sorrow, but the change in
his mood made him to realize that he should utilize the rest of the day. His
sorrow was washed by the dust of snow, and his sprit was revived and he got
ready to utilize the rest of the day.
