AIM OF THE PROJECT

 The main aim of this project is to design a three-phase transmission line

fault detection using an Arduino NANO.
INTRODUCTION

 This system detects such types of faults line-line fault, open circuit fault,
line to line-line, line –line ground, line-ground fault.
 This system consists of ESP8266 WI-FI module to send the data into the
thing speak cloud and send the alert intimation to user mobile through
BLYNK application.
 To achieve this task using ARDUINO NANO and ESP8266 modules.
OBJECTIVES

 Design a three-phase fault analysis system.

 It will detect line-line fault, open circuit fault, line to line-line, line –line
ground, line-ground fault.
 R,Y,B fault indication using LEDs.
 Wireless data monitoring using thing speak API.
BLOCK DIAGRAM
WORKING

 Here the current sensing circuits made a set of resistors are interfaced to
Arduino micro controller at ADC port for providing digital data to the
microcontroller.
 Hence the fault is detecting in transmission lines, this data upload into the
thing speak cloud along with date and time and alert notification will send
to the user mobile through blynk app.
MAJOR BUILDING BLOCK

 Arduino Nano Microcontroller.

 LCD with driver.
 Esp8266 Wi-Fi module.
 Buzzer.
 Fire sensor.
 Smoke sensor.
SOFTWARE USED

 Embedded C programming.
 Arduino IDE studio for dumping code into Micro controller.
 Express SCH for Circuit design.
TECHNOLOGIES USED

 Thingspeak cloud technology.

 IOT Blynk mobile application.
ARDUINO NANO

 Arduino Nano is based on the ATmega328 SMD chip.

 It has 14 digital input/output pins, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB
connection, and a reset button.
ARDUINO NANO SPECIFICATIONS:
ADVANTAGES OF MICROCONTROLLER:

 Low cost
 User friendly
 Easily available in market
 We can reprogram it up to 1000 times
 Less power consumption
LCD DISPLAY

 A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a thin, flat electronic visual display that
uses the light modulating properties of liquid crystals.
 These are used in a wide range of applications, including computer
monitors, television, instrument panels, etc.
BUZZER

 Piezo electric buzzer, it generates sound because of the piezoelectric

effect.
 Magnetic buzzer is based on the electromagnetic principle. In this project
we are going to use magnetic buzzer.

 Characteristics of buzzer circuit :

1. sound level -------------------70-95 dB
2. current consumption---------35-60 ma
3. resonant frequency---------- 1-3 khz
WIFI-MODULE ESP-8266

 The ESP8266 Wi-Fi Module is a self contained SOC with integrated

TCP/IP protocol stack that can give any microcontroller access to your
Wi-Fi network.
FLAME SENSOR

 Flame Detection Sensor Module is sensitive to the flame, but also can
detect ordinary light. Usually used as a flame alarm.
SMOKE SENSOR

 The sensor can measure concentrations of flammable gas of 300 to 10,000

ppm. The sensor can operate at temperatures from -20 to 50°C and
consumes less than 150 mA at 5 V.
ADVANTAGES:

 Automatic detection of three phase faults.

 Automatic fire and smoke detection.
 Automatic alert using Buzzer and blynk app.
 Low power consumption.
 Efficient and low-cost design.
 Fast response.
