PROJECT NO : 1
NUMBER SYSTEM
CONVERTER
Make a graphical user
interface for number system
converter.
(i) Decimal to binary
(ii) Binary to decimal
(iii) Decimal to Hexadecimal
vice versa
(iv) Binary to octal vice versa
THEORY
A number system is defined as a system of writing to
express numbers. It is the mathematical notation for
representing numbers of a given set by using digits or
other symbols in a consistent manner.
4 types of number system:
Decimal Number System
Binary Number System
Octal Number System
Hexadecimal Number System
NUMBER SYSTEM CONVERTER
WORKING OF GUI
• Enter the Value of no in any system. To enter
no in binary format place 0b at prefix ,0o at
prefix for octal numbers and 0x for
hexadecimal numbers.

• Click on Display output . All the values will be

displayed in each number system.

• Reset button can be clicked to clear the

values and start again.

• Exit button can be pressed to Quit the GUI.

• Note: If a negative no is entered in the system

it will show error.
PROJECT NO : 2
SIMPLIFICATION USING K
MAP

Make a graphical user interface where user

insert an
input as min-term and output is its simplified
Boolean
expression.
THEORY
The Karnaugh map is a method of simplifying
Boolean algebra expressions.
K-map takes both SOP and POS forms. So, there
are two possible solutions for K-map, i.e.,
minterm and maxterm solution.

Minterm is a product term and Maxterm is a

sum term in which the Boolean variable is
either normal or in complemented form.
NUMBER SYSTEM CONVERTER
WORKING OF GUI
• Enter the decimal no that contains
minterms.

• Enter the values where Don't care

symbol is used.

• Enter the form in which you want the

simplified boolean expression (1 for SOP
and 2 for POS)

● Scope to extend :
● We can take no of inputs from user and
then simplify the expression using K map.
PROJECT NO : 3
LOGIC GATES
Make a graphical user interface that
takes
the input as a string and gives the
result
according to various logic gates.
(a) NOT Gate (b) AND Gate
(c) XOR Gate (d) OR Gate

(e) NOR Gate (f) NAND Gate

THEORY
A logic gate is an idealized or physical device
implementing a Boolean function, a logical
operation performed on one or more binary
inputs that produces a single binary output.

• AND gate: The output is "true" when both

inputs are "true." Otherwise, the output
is "false." In other words, the output is 1
only when both inputs one AND two are
1.

• OR gate: If both inputs are "false," then

the output is "false." In other words, for
the output to be 1, at least input one OR
two must be 1.
THEORY
• NOT gate: A logical inverter, has only
one input. It reverses the logic state. If
the input is 1, then the output is 0.

• XOR gate : The output is "true" if either,

but not both, of the inputs are "true." .
output is 1 if the inputs are different, but
0 if the inputs are the same.

• NOR gate: The NOR gate is a

combination OR gate followed by an
inverter. Its output is "true" if both inputs
are "false." Otherwise, the output is
"false."
NUMBER SYSTEM CONVERTER
WORKING OF GUI
• Choose the desired logic gate for
which you want the output

• Enter the required no of input

string and click the button

• Output of the logic gate will be

displayed.
CONCLUSIONS
• We have successfully designed
number system converter GUI.

• We are successfully getting the

simplified boolean expression for
three inputs using K-MAP.

• We have got the desired output

after passing input strings into
selected logic gates.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We would like to sincerely and profusely
thank Prof. Varun Sir for giving us this fruitful
opportunity to work, learn and explore new
things under his guidance and support. His
presence has been a motivation for us and
has given us the confidence to complete our
project on time.

This project gave us a wonderful experience

and we got to learn more about our topic.
