Lesson 2 – Media in the

Digital Age
Prof. Kyle Aris Dayvid D. Roño
Digital Age
It refers to the current period of human history where
digital technologies, including computers, the internet,
and mobile devices, dominate the production,
distribution, and consumption of information. This era
began in the late 20th century and continues to evolve
with the advancement of new technologies.
Traditional vs. Digital
Media
Traditional Media
• Includes newspapers, television, radio, and print
publications. These are generally one-way
communication platforms where information flows from
the creator to the audience.
Digital Media
• Refers to content that is produced, distributed, and
consumed using digital devices such as smartphones,
tablets, and computers. It includes social media,
websites, online videos, podcasts, and blogs, enabling
two-way interaction between creators and consumers.
