You must use the past passive voice (was/were + pp) to describe what was
wrong.

You should use different connectives (Also, …as well, …too, On top of that,
Worse than that, Moreover, etc.) to link your sentences and build up a sense
of drama.

You could develop your story and add a revelation at the end, to complete it.
