What is the Quran?
 Allah has sent for the guidance
of humanity a complete code of
life , exhaustive comprehensive
which was sent down by Him in
the heart of His Messenger. This
code of life is called the Holy
Quran.
HOLY QURAN IS THE LITERAL
SPEECH OF ALLAH ALMIGHTY

 (O MUHAMMAD) (SAW) this (book) has been


sent down on your heart so that you may be
one of the Warner.

 The word Quran is a derivation of Qirat.
 Quran means to collect.

Types of Revelation

 WAHEE-A-MATLOO
Means the revelation which God has
transmitted in His own words & speech, like QURAN

 WAHEE_A_GHAIR MATLU
Means that the revelation which God through
His messenger Angel Jabrail projected into the heart of the
Holy Prophet.

to know a particular matter

guidance.
o When some body put any

objection Quran sent its


argument in order to discard it.
Naming & Chapterising of
Surrah
 Quran is not a written edict but a spoken
messages.
 Holy book is the vocal message of God

Almighty so the subjects & topics not


fixed .
 He revealed His message according to the

manner& arrangement thought fit by Him.


 That’s why some Surrah were named

according to the predominant event or


object occurring in the Surrah.
Inscription Of Holly Quran
 After the departure of the Prophet (PBUH) , 70 of
those who had learnt Quran by heart lost their
lives in the war of Yamama against Musailama ,
the liar.
Hazrat Omar Farooq revealed the idea of
compilation of Quran to the first caliph Hazrat
Abu-Bakr (RAA).
 For the compilation of Quran, he appointed

Hazrat Zaid-Bin –Thabit (RAA) who was an expert


calligraphist.
 Quran had to be written in the script of the

Qurraish tribe.

SURAH AL-BAQRA
VERSE NO (284-286)
 284. to Allah belongs all that is in the
heaven & all that is on the Earth, & whether
you disclose what is in your own selves or
conceal it , Allah will call you to account for
it. Then He forgives whom He wills &
punishes whom He wills. And Allah is able to
do all things.
 285. the Messenger (PBUH) believes in
what has been sent down top him from His
Lord and so do the believers . Each one
believes in Allah , His angels, His books &
His Messengers. They say we make no
distinction between one another of His
Messengers & they say , ‘
 ‘we hear & we obey”. We seek your

forgiveness our lord &to you is the return


( of all).

 286. Allah burdens not a person beyond his
scope. He get rewards for that which he has
earned, & he is punished for that which he has
earned .
 Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into
error , our Lord ! Lay not on us a burden like that
which you did lay on those before us ( Jews &
Christians) .Our lord! Put not on us a burden
greater than we have strength o bear . Pardon us
& grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us . You
are our Maula (Patron Supporter & protector, etc)
give us victory over the disbelieving people.
