DIGITAL TEXTILE

PRINTING
INTRODUCTION:
• A method where colorful designs are embossed on a variety of fabrics
using digital ink-jet printing technology, i.e., any design can be easily
and accurately printed on fabrics.
• This printing technique does not require any screens and there are no
color limitations.
• Using this technique can be printed on fabrics, and also printed
directly on garments like t-shirt, shirt, jeans etc.
Types of Digital Printing
1. Inkjet
2. Laser
3. Digital press
4. Dye sublimation
5. Solid ink
6. Thermal wax
7. UV Digital Printing
8. Large format printing
9. Small format printing
10. Digital textile printing
1. Inkjet: Inkjet printing uses a printer created to copy an image from a computer
or digital device and reproduce it on paper or plastic.
2. Laser: Laser printing is created to reproduce an image from a digital device
using a laser. As it is being processed, the laser is moved back and forth by means
of a table inside the printer.
3. Digital press: This type of digital printing is the digital counterpart of the
traditional press and is created to handle high volume orders immediately while
offering high quality finishes but is a more expensive printing than inkjet printing.
4. Dye sublimation: Dye-sublimation is a process that supports printing on fabric,
plastic, and synthetic material. Which is based on transferring heat to apply an
image on the predetermined substrate.
5. Solid ink: Solid ink is a waxy resin-based polymer that must be melted prior to
usage
6. Thermal wax: It is a type of print that uses heat to transfer a print to paper.
7. UV Digital Printing: UV printing is a type of digital printing, where UV lights are
used to cure ink as it is printed onto the surface.
8. Large format printing: Large format printing refers to any printing project that
uses a large sheet of paper.
9. Small format printing: Small format printing is the process of printing images
directly to multiple small parts in a single print cycle.
10. Digital textile printing: Digital Textile Printing is a process of printing on textiles
and garments using inkjet technology to print colorants onto fabric.
