INTRODUCTION TO TOUCH
SENSORS:

• What is a Touch Sensor?

• A touch sensor is an electronic component that detects physical touch or
proximity.
• Types of Touch Sensors:
• Capacitive
• Resistive
• Infrared
• Applications:
• Used in smartphones, touchpads, and various smart devices.
COMPONENTS OF THE TOUCH
SENSOR CIRCUIT:
• 1. LED 8mm Straw Hat White
• 2. LM358P
• 3. Resistors-33 ohm 1%
• -100 ohm 5%
• -10 ohm 5%
• 4. IR Transmitter
• 5. IR Receiver
• 6. 10K Potentiometer (Pot)
WORKING PRINCIPLE OF THE TOUCH
SENSOR
•How It Works:
•When a hand touches or comes near the sensor, the capacitance changes.
•The change is detected by the sensor module and is converted into an electrical signal.

•Output Response:
•Depending on the configuration, the circuit may turn an LED on/off, send signals to a microcontroller,
or trigger another device.
ADVANTAGES OF TOUCH SENSOR:
•Advantages:

•No physical force required, increasing durability.

•Faster response time compared to mechanical switches.
•Sleek and modern design applications in devices.

•Low Power Consumption:

•Many touch sensors consume minimal power, making them ideal for battery-operated devices
APPLICATIONS IN REAL LIFE:
•Real-World Uses:

•Smartphones and tablets (Capacitive touchscreens)

•Home appliances (Touch-controlled lamps and switches)
•Industrial applications (Touch interfaces in machines)

•Future Potential:
•Growing use in wearable technology, IoT devices, and smart homes.
