Communication
Communication is the exchange and flow of information and ideas from one person to another Transfer of meaning
Effective communication occurs only if the receiver understands the exact information or idea that the sender intended to transmit

Elements Of Communication
Communicator - Is the sender, speaker, issuer or writer. Communicatee - Is the receiver of the message for whom the communication is meant. Message - Content of the letter, speech, order information, idea, or suggestion. Communication channel - It is the media through which the sender passes the information and understanding to the receiver. Feedback - It is the effect, reply or reaction of the information transmitted to the communicate.

Principles Of Communication
Dynamic-constantly changes Continuous-never stops Circular-feedback loop Unrepeatable-if we say anything again precisely the same way, the listeners have heard it before Irreversible-cant ever get it back like water cycle Complex-each one of us are different

Levels Of Communication
Intrapersonal-speaking within our self Interpersonal-speaking with others Organizational-in context of an organization Mass or Public-communicating publicly

Barriers To Communication
Physiological barriers-we receive information through five senses, sometimes it may not see, hear, touch, smell or taste.
Psychological barriers-individual mind-sets, prejudice, stereotypes, halo effects.

Successful Strategic Communication


Link your message to the strategy and goals of the organization Attract the attention of your intended audience. Explain your position in terms they will understand and accept. Motivate your audience to accept and act on your message. Inoculate them against contrary messages and positions. Manage audience expectations
