Motivating Yourself with Intrinsic and Extrinsic Factors Presenter: Isabelle Kispotta What is Wellness? • • Wellness means being healthy in different parts of your life. • • It includes your body, mind, emotions, and relationships. • • Wellness helps you live a happy, balanced life. The Wellness Wheel • • The wellness wheel shows different areas of your life that affect your overall well-being. • • These areas include: • - Physical • - Emotional • - Social • - Spiritual • - Intellectual • - Environmental Motivation: What Drives You? • • Two types of motivation: • 1. Intrinsic Motivation: Doing something because it makes you feel good inside. • 2. Extrinsic Motivation: Doing something to get a reward or recognition from others. • • Both types of motivation help you achieve your goals. Set Your Wellness Goal • • Think about the wellness wheel and choose one area to focus on. • • Use the SMART method: • - Specific: Make your goal clear. • - Measurable: Decide how to track your progress. • - Achievable: Make sure it's possible to achieve. • - Relevant: It should be important to you.
