HEREDITY IN THE
ENVIRONMENT By Nariman Bataineh Key factors in a child's development
The factors that could affect a child’s development could be
mainly categorized into Hereditary and Environmental.
For example, Genes are passed down from parents
determining not only how a child looks, but also how he acts, his immunity, and his health status compared to other children. Moreover, the environment, whether it meant the social circle surrounding a child or the physical environment, could affect the actions of a child, the way he deals with sickness, and hence also affecting his health status. Looking deeper into the role of hereditary
• Certain people are predisposed to get certain diseases or
illnesses due to their genetic makeup. • For example: the child of parents with thalassemia • Plus some children are more predisposed to becoming obese due to their genetic makeup and hence more prone to certain diseases. • Moreover it can also affect the intelligence level of a child and how well he absorbs information, however it has a certain extent to its affect, for it’s the environment that sets the boundaries of creativity and art. Analyzing environmental factors in depth

expressed. • Take this case: Poor nutrition during pregnancy affects how proto-oncogenes, the genes responsible for growth, are expressed. Impacting physical and cognitive traits. • Other factors include temperature, exposure to toxins, stress, lifestyle, epigenetics, etc… • These factors interact with genetic predispositions and may result in changes in how inherited traits are expressed. The end.. Thank you for engaging in this important discussion about the interplay between heredity and the environment. Your insights and perspectives have enriched our understanding of how these factors shape our traits and behaviors across generations.
