INTRODUCTION
Information technology (IT) plays a crucial role in incident
reporting, which involves documenting workplace incidents,
injuries, accidents, security breaches, and more. However, we
extend the scope beyond the workplace to address community-
wide safety concerns. With advancements in technology,
including mobile platforms and location-based technologies like
GPS, SafeZone provides residents with a user-friendly mobile
application. This application empowers users to report incidents
and enables Geolocation technology to identify high-risk areas,
enhancing their awareness and safety decision-making.
Authorities at the Bacolor Municipal Police Station can access the
system, log actions, and update area risk levels based on user
reports and police activities. Ultimately, SafeZone aims to bridge
the gap between technology and public safety, ensuring a safer
environment for Bacolor's residents in the face of urbanization
and development challenges.

PURPOSE AND
DESCRIPTION
The SafeZone mobile app is designed to improve public safety in Bacolor, Pampanga by
providing an accessible and efficient platform for citizens to report crimes and accidents,
identifying high-risk and low-risk, and accident-prone areas based on data collected, and
recommending proactive safety measures to local authorities. The app aims to improve
collaboration between residents, barangay officials, police officers, to promote a safe and
peaceful community.

1. Admin Login: Administrators are responsible for managing the system, overseeing user
accounts, and maintaining the integrity of the data collected. Administrators also have full
and higher access control of the app.
2. Residents Login: Residents can report crimes and accident through the SafeZone app,
and should provide the type of incident, exact location using geolocation technology, date,
and time, and can upload photos or videos of the incident.
3. Barangay Officials Login: Barangay officials are granted access to review reported
incidents and within the bounds of their authority, initiate appropriate legal actions in
response to these incidents.
4. Police Officers: Police officer users have access to view incident reports, analyze the data
and log course actions to the incidents.
OBJECTIVE OF THE
STUDY
General Objective
The main objective of this study is to develop the SafeZone mobile
app to enhance public safety in Bacolor, Pampanga that enables users
to report incidents in real-time and accurate data, and enables
collaboration between residents, barangay officials, and police officers
to implement proactive and data-driven safety measures.

Specific Objectives
1. The proponents utilized a real-time GPS tracking to establish an
incident reporting system.
2. The proponents leveraged data analytics, aligning with prevailing
technology trends.

OBJECTIVE OF THE
STUDY
3.

Evaluate the system to see if it corresponds with the ISO 25010 standards:
Functional Stability
• Performance Efficiency
• Compatibility
• Usability
• Reliability
• Security
• Maintainability
• Portability
4. Establish an implementation plan for the capstone project deployment: When
creating the implementation plan, the proponents incorporate trends in project
management and deployment methodologies.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION
This study focuses on the SafeZone mobile application, placing a specific
emphasis on the residents and the community of Bacolor, Pampanga. It
encompasses a range of incidents within Bacolor, Pampanga, including but not
limited to vehicular accidents, robberies, thefts, property damage, and more.

This study's limitations encompass platform exclusivity, as the SafeZone

mobile app is designed solely for Android devices (excluding iOS), and device
compatibility, requiring a minimum of 2 GB RAM, Android 6.0 operating system,
and 100 MB of storage. Additionally, it acknowledges internet dependence,
geographic restrictions, data accuracy concerns, and privacy and security
considerations, all of which may potentially influence the study's
implementation and outcomes.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Gathering and evaluating numerical data is the process of
conducting quantitative research. Finding trends and
averages, generating hypotheses, examining causality, and
extrapolating findings to larger populations are all possible
with it. The proponents employed a quantitative approach,
utilizing surveys in accordance with ISO 25010 software
quality standards.

SOFTWARE METHODOLOGY
SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT MODEL

Waterfall model was chosen for prototyping SafeZone due to

its structured and sequential process, which ensures
thorough planning, design, testing, and implementation. This
model is beneficial for creating a robust and reliable
prototype, crucial for a public safety application like
SafeZone. Its emphasis on documentation at each stage is
also useful for record-keeping and effective communication
with stakeholders.

RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS
The statistical tools used in the analysis of data are weighted mean, standard deviation and analysis of

variance. The weighted mean was used to determine the average responses for each item. The five options

in each item in the questionnaire are 5 (Strongly Agree), 4 (Agree), 3 (Moderately Agree), 2 (Slightly Agree)

and 1 (Disagree). In interpreting the weighted mean, the following ranges of scores and interpretations were:

MEAN RANGE VERBAL INTERPRETATION

4.51 – 5.00 Strongly Agree

3.51 – 4.50 Agree

2.51 – 3.50 Moderately Agree

1.51 – 2.50 Slightly Disagree

1.00 – 1.50 Disagree

RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS
Evaluation Result

The proponents have distributed the questionnaires to a diverse set of

participants, including random residents of Bacolor, Pampanga, as well as Police

Officers from the Bacolor Municipal Station. These participants have been actively

involved in testing the system, assessing its functionality and accessed correctly.

Specifically, (96) randomly selected residents and (5) police officers have been

engaged as respondents for the Beta test, while (4) Information Technology (I.T.)

Experts have been enlisted for the Alpha test.

RECOMMENDATION
Recommendations
Based on the findings, the researcher, alpha and beta testers suggest the
following:
1. Improving the accessibility of police officer locations to facilitate rapid deployment
of the closest personnel to an incident for enhanced safety measures.
2. Specify the particular level or severity of the aforementioned incident, thereby
enabling a more precise determination of the required response and ensuring that
appropriate safety measures are promptly implemented.
3. Design and deploy an Internet of Things (IoT) device specifically engineered to
provide real-time incident detection and alerting capabilities.
