Team Effectiveness (350 words)


• From your own individual experience and reflection assess
the effectiveness of your team in achieving the shared
goals.
• Whether the outcome of the project was successful or
not, explore what worked well and what didn’t work well
in progressing through the project.
• Define and apply criteria to determine the effectiveness of
the team´s achievements in relation to the shared goals.

1. What were the goals of the group? (write the goals as SMART goals)
2. What criteria can you use to measure them? – (Think about Gantt chart, completion of
particular tasks, productivity, timing).
3. How successful was the group? (Compare to different measures).

Project
1. SMART goal: In order to make sure that there will be
audience in the event at the right time and place, we
design and distribute effective Event Invitations to Target
Audience 4 Weeks Before the Event.
2. Criteria to Measure the Goal: (Completion on Time
Criteria) Looking into the Gantt chart, Measure the
completion of specific tasks such as design revisions,
printing orders, and mailing or emailing invitations. Other
criterion:

(Clarity of the invitation letter criteria)

3. How successful was the group?: Compare the achieved
results to the SMART goals set by the group for each task.

enough audience at the time of the event?

clear and there was no misunderstanding from the
audience?
Assessment Criteria
(9-10 mark)
Various criteria are well defined and applied to determine the effectiveness of the team´s
achievements. The team´s achievements can be objectively measured against the SMART
criteria. It contains an overall assessment of the team´s effectiveness supported by
examples.

• Reflect on the relationships and interactions as
your team progressed through the group
project. What actions or behaviours from group
members helped you to reach your goal? What
factors hindered the group from working
effectively? Include specific examples of actions
that helped and hindered the collaborative
achievement of the group´s goals. Explain how
or why these actions had a positive or negative
impact on the group. Ensure anonymity of
group members.

• (9-10) A range of actions taken by members of the group are analysed and explained in
detail how they helped or hindered the group from achieving its goal. There is a detailed
discussion giving specific examples. Ideas may be linked to theories about team
dynamics.

Team dynamics refers to the behavioral relationships and interactions that occur within a
group of individuals working towards a common goal.

Independent research (200 words)
• Research what type of teams exist in your field of study. Conduct
research of various team models used in your field. Large
organisations may use various team models within the
organisation. Consider how people are expected to work together.
Your findings may be recorded in paragraphs or as a table and
should include name of company/organisation, field or industry
and details of the team or company structure.
You should include the answer to the following questions:
• What does the company do? What field is it in? What types of
teams does it use? Why does it use these types of teams?

Personal reflection (250 words)
• Reflect on your skills and personality type. Demonstrate how your
skills, knowledge and personality type helped the team project.
Can you think of any competences that you were lacking which
held back the project? Using your research, reflect on how well
your current skills match the requirements of companies that
work in your field. How might you improve on any gaps (WRITE
SMART GOALS)?
• Assessment Criteria to get a score of (9-10): Analyses a range of
own personal or professional skills. Explains how specific
knowledge and skills helped the team project, giving examples.
Explanation of how the student´s personality type and skill set
would match the skills required by a company. Clear links are
made between skill set and company research
