What Are They?

Risks is an uncertain events or conditions, that, if it occurs has an


impact (positive or negative) on one or more project objectives.

How Do You Deal with Them?

Risks are evaluated for impact, severity, and possible advance


notice to help prioritize them so that the project manager can
plan around risks in advance.

The documentation about possible risks is kept in a risk register


so that it is always available for the project team to review.

What Are They?

Issues are conditions or situations that may have an impact on


the project objectives.

How Do You Deal with Them?

Issue Log
The project manager maintains a list of all issues that have been
raised, called an “issue log.”

The issue log captures information about a question or discovery,


who first raised it, who will research it, what impact it might have
on the project, and by when the next update and/or
resolution/recommendation is expected.
